Ok guys, I have been asked to write a short article about John and the memorial race for submission to a few of the big RC publications. Between going out of town and fighting a flea infestation I haven't had much time to get anything done, but in the next few days I will try to make some time to get it done and submitted. What I need from all of you (especially those of you who were close to him) is information about John's life, friends, influence, and legacy. When and where was he born? Where did he grow up and how did he get involved with racing? What tracks did he frequent? Who is he survived by and what is their relation? Share a funny story about racing with John or a lesson you learned from being a part of his life. The more information the better, so share whatever you like but please keep discussion on track. Unfortunately, these magazines are not likely to make a feature-length article out of this story so it will have to be short, sweet, and to the point...they have to save room for an 8-page article on the newest Traxxas whatever you know, and we will be lucky to get a one-page blurb, or less. I'm flattered to have been given this opportunity, and know that I am not taking it lightly. Thanks everyone, post away!

Bret Mcalpin (hope I spelled that right) or Mike Morris would both be more than willing to help you I'm sure. They both have tons of info that could possibly be used to help you with this.
Someone is going to have to step up to the plate and get the sprint car portion of the John Davis Memorial Race done so I can get the winners names on our plaque. I know Wayne won the Latemodel, but we did not finish the sprint car and were going to do it in a couple of weeks. We need to do it.
Mike is scheduling this due to Cole having to be there. Also since Wayne is going to be running sprints as well, they are trying to schedule it with the both of them being there.
